The Centre of Contemporary Art "Znaki Czasu" is being built by the Municipality of Torun with the use of European funds from the Integral Operational Program of Regional Development and Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Operational Program 'Promesa'.


 
The Centre of Contemporary Art "Znaki Czasu" is located in the heart of Torun, in the neighbourhood of gothic old town inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997.
The architectonic program of the building is based on three main levels, roof and underground level.
  • The ground floor is designed for:
    an amphiteatral room for artistic, theatrical and musical activities;
    an auditorium for author's meetings, lectures, multimedia and film projections;
    a bookshop;
    a library with a reading – room;
    an exhibition room.
  • The biggest exhibition room is situated on the first floor.
  • The entresol of the second floor creates additional exhibition room.
  • The café and viewing terrace are situated on the roof.
  • Car park and store – rooms are located on the underground level.
Total Centre's exhibition area comes to 4000 square metres.
